Instagram Is Testing A Feature To Generate Stickers With Your Own Photos

Instagram has announced the feature of creating stickers using your own images or selected photos on their platform. This sticker can be applied to Stories or Reels and more interestingly it can automatically detect the subject and remove the background.

This feature is already built into Stories with a scissors icon with the text "CREATE" displayed on the screen. After pressing, the user can select a picture in the device. Instagram will automatically select the subject or users can select themselves by simply touching the area in the image that they want to make a sticker.

In our tests, the stickers produced are of good quality and neat without any residual background. These stickers can then be resized to be used on content you want to share on Stories or Reels. The stickers will also be saved for reuse which users can access in the "Your stickers" section and press "See all".

For now, the sticker creation feature is still in the testing phase and only a few users can use it. The test I did was using my colleague's iPhone 14 because both the iPhone and the Android device I use still don't have this feature.
