iPhone 15 Reportedly Has Problems Using NFC Chip When Charged Using BMW Car Wireless Charger

Since the recent launch of the iPhone 15, a number of problems have been reported by users. Recently, we have heard the complaints of iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max users regarding the high heating problem when running some applications. According to Apple, it is only a software issue that will be overcome with the new iOS update.

Apart from that, now some users are reporting that their iPhone 15 is experiencing problems after being charged using the wireless charger built into BMW cars. After the iPhone 15 is charged on this wireless charger, users report that their device enters recovery mode and the screen turns white. Immediately afterwards, the NFC chip continued to malfunction – leading to features such as Apple Pay being unusable.

The NFC chip on the iPhone 15 allows users to unlock the car, make payments with Apple Pay or even top up a TnG Enhanced card. For now this issue affects iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max users only, where Apple Pay displays the message "Could Not Set Up Apple Pay".

Apple and BMW, respectively, have not issued an official statement regarding this matter for now. Affected iPhone 15 users who drive BMW cars are advised not to charge the device using the built-in charger pending a software update or Apple's response.
