Maxis has just announced their Maxis Home Fiber optic internet plan, which offers internet connections with internet speeds from 100Mbps up to 1Gbps and 2Gbps.
Offering 2Gbps connections is nothing new. Previously, Telekom Malaysia and Time Internet had already started offering plans with the same connection speed, with some interesting additions.
For Maxis, along with this 2Gbps plan, they are also seen offering a 6E WiFi router that allows Maxis customers to take full advantage of this 2Gbps internet connection, at least through a wired connection, and up to 1.8Gbps through a WiFi connection.
The 6E WiFi router offered by Maxis is seen to come with an additional frequency, namely 6GHz along with 2.4GHz and 5GHz which not only promises faster wireless internet connection speed, but also greater connection coverage.
In the meantime, this offered router can also be connected to a DECT phone that will be offered for free if desired. Apart from that, it also supports WiFi Mesh router connection and existing Maxis Home Fiber customers can subscribe to the WiFi Max add-on plan to get an additional WiFi router to further improve WiFi coverage in your home.
Maxis has also listed a number of smart devices that support this WiFi 6E connection, which is necessary to ensure that their customers can take advantage of the speed of this 2Gbps plan. These devices include:

But looking at the Maxis Home Fiber FAQ page, they don't say what brand and model of WiFi router 6E will be offered. We will ask Maxis about what routers they will be offering for their 2Gbps plan customers.
