Members of Parliament Not Allowed to Live Stream During Dewan Rakyat Conference Sessions

Today, the live broadcast of the Dewan Rakyat conference session can be watched through several platforms, including through the official channel of the Malaysian Parliament on YouTube, or through the RTM channel on television. However, it did not stop some parliamentarians from doing live streaming during the session of the Dewan Rakyat.

Touching on this, during the Dewan Rakyat conference session this morning, the Speaker YB Tan Sri Dato' Johari has decided which parliamentarians are no longer allowed to do any live streaming during the conference session.

There are a number of reasons for this, including that there are MPs who do not follow the rules by having to direct their speeches to the chairman rather than to the device that is doing the live broadcast. In addition, there are also members of parliament who take a long time to set up the device, at the same time disrupting several affairs.

It was also emphasized that each conference session has already been broadcast live on RTM Live and YouTube. Any parliamentarian who wants to share to followers or through their social channels, can do so after the session of the House of Representatives is over.
