Meta is being sued by Andre Elijah who is the developer of AEI Fitness' VR app at Quest after allegedly being blacklisted by Meta for developing the same app for Vision Pro and Pico. According to Elijah his application was supposed to be shown during the Meta Connect event but has now been canceled as it was also developed for a competing platform.
Elijah revealed that his company has already received $1.5 million from Meta to develop the app and hopes to receive another $3.2 million in the near future. He now wants to sue Meta for alleged losses of hundreds of millions. It was not revealed whether Meta and Elijah ever signed an exclusivity agreement and whether the developer clause was breached after it was offered to other VR platforms.
For now, Elijah says only Apple and Pico have agreed to bring his app to their respective mixed reality headset platforms.
