Microsoft Has Invested $100 Billion In Bing To Date – Yet Google Still Dominates The Search Engine Arena

Bing is a search engine developed by Microsoft, but still has difficulty in attracting many users. It is estimated that Bing only holds around 3% of the search engine market, while Google holds more than 90% of the search engine market.

Recently, Satya Nadella also shared that Microsoft has invested nearly $100 billion over 20 years for the development of Bing. The Microsoft CEO aims to achieve 20% market share, but so far its market share on mobile devices is only single digits, and only slightly higher on desktop.

Satya Nadella also emphasized that with Google's size, they are able to better understand users and display better search results. On the other hand, Bing is used quite rarely, making it difficult for them to get dynamic data to allow them to display better quality results.

It also added, saying Google's dominance made many people optimize web content for Google, and ignore Bing – which continued to lead to Google's dominance in the search engine arena.

This year, Bing is ready to integrate OpenAI technology to support text and image generation, thus attracting more users to use the search engine.
