Minecraft is one of those unique games that challenges creativity and has many fans around the world – especially among teenage gamers. It is also used as a teaching aid through the Minecraft Education offering.
Most recently, the company that is now owned by Microsoft announced that they have sold over 300 million copies to date - thus making Minecraft the most popular game in the world.
In comparison, Grand Theft Auto V, which is in second place, is still far behind with 185 million copies sold, while Tetris (EA) sold 100 million copies.
Although it has been almost 15 years since its launch, Minecraft continues to actively add new features and functions to the game. It was previously officially launched in 2011, although it has been tested since 2009 in beta form.
