The Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil today shared that there is evidence showing that TikTok systematically downgrades or deletes pro-Palestinian content from Malaysian accounts.
In parallel, the minister has ordered SKMM to make a special warning against TikTok, in addition to arranging a meeting related to the issue. In addition to TikTok, the same reprimand was also directed to be delivered to Meta, which manages Instagram and Facebook.
Commenting further, the minister stated that there are a number of users who have complained to TikTok regarding their content and live broadcasts related to the Palestinian conflict being taken down or blocked. This includes Anwar Ibrahim's PMX speech during the recent rally.
According to TikTok's initial response, it is said to have images of violence. But, according to further research related to related content, no blood or gruesome images were also revealed.
Also shared through social media, Minister Fahmi Fadzil stated that if this issue is ignored by the owner of the platform, he will not hesitate to take a very firm approach and stance.
