As we previously reported, Apple is going to breathe new life into the Apple TV app so that it can become a streaming hub. This new update will remove the rent and buy content section. In addition, Apple will also integrate various other streaming platforms and the ability to subscribe to special channels in this application.
Recently, Apple has introduced tvOS 17.2 Beta 1 for developers. This update has introduced a new interface on Apple TV with a Netflix-like design. First is a sidebar that allows users to select content categories such as from Apple TV+, MLS pass subscriptions, channel subscriptions or other streaming platforms.
Then there is a new category which is My TV which is a section where other streaming platforms can be accessed. Any installed third-party streaming platforms that Apple supports will be displayed in this section. Users can also subscribe to channels such as MGM+, AMC+ and others (limited in selected markets) in this section to watch content not offered by Apple.
