Sephora Malaysia will introduce a smartphone-based payment system in all 17 of their stores nationwide. The AMS1 mobile device-based point of sale system (mPOS) developed by Adyen was first introduced in the KLCC store before being expanded to other stores. This makes them the first company to offer an mPOS system in Malaysia.
With this AMS1 terminal, customers can pay directly to the salesperson without having to queue at the payment counter. This will save time and provide an easier shopping experience for Sephora customers.
This Android-based device has a battery that can last all day. AMS1 accepts NFC-based non-cash payments using other smartphones as well as debit/credit cards.
