Pete Lau has recently confirmed that the OnePlus Open and the Oppo Find N3 are the same device. An early version of the device has already been officially shown through an interview with Lewis Hilsenteger, host of the popular YouTube channel, Unbox Therapy.
Like some new foldable phones, Find N2, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5 – OnePlus Open also uses a hinge design that can close the device tightly without any gaps. Pete Lau also stated that the hinge on the OnePlus Open has 600 patents registered and uses 31 less components than the Oppo Find N2.
More interestingly, this Unbox Therapy video also shows all angles of the device from every side up to the screen, except for the camera bump. The design of the device looks more or less the same as the leaked mock image, only the real version looks flatter and looks premium.
The iconic drop-down button, on the side of OnePlus devices is also retained. The inner screen appears to have fairly thin bezels, and so do the overall dimensions of the device. The giant camera bump is already visible, it's obviously the same as the leaked image only in this video it's covered by a small box.
OnePlus Open is expected to launch on October 19 for the global market. For now it is still uncertain when this device will enter the Malaysian market. Let's all look forward to the development and official launch of this smartphone.
