This year alone, various news about the electrification of Pos Malaysia were announced, starting from their intention to use electric motorcycles, to providing EV chargers in some selected locations. They have just announced an extension of collaboration with Yinson GreenTech and will receive 143 electric vans to ensure their sustainability targets are met by 2050.
Yinson GreenTech, which has already cooperated with Pos Malaysia for the provision of ChargEV electric vehicle chargers in some selected locations, will provide all 143 of these electric vans through one of their brands, drivEV – an electric car lease that also includes a telematics system and smart tracking solution for enterprises.
Therefore, Pos Malaysia is also able to obtain data involving the use of these electric vans, in terms of safety, optimization of delivery journeys, driving patterns, and delivery effectiveness.
The 143 van units provided by Yinson GreenTech are CAM EC35 which have a travel distance of 280km and can be charged with 6.6 kW AC or 40kW DC fast charging. Pos Malaysia will also try Maxus eDeliver 3 and Foton iBlue EV to explore other usage concepts.
With the start of the use of electric vans in Pos Malaysia, and also their commitment in using electric motorcycles, this will help them to convert all their last-mile deliveries to electric vehicles by 2030.
