The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 object tracking accessory was announced today with a brand new, larger design. There is a large hole on the top of the SmartTag2 that allows it to be placed on keys, luggage, vehicles and various other objects that you want to track more easily.
The main advantage of SmartTag2 is that it can be tracked within 120 meters compared to the original version which was only within 20 meters in the first generation. There is a new battery saving mode that allows it to operate for 700 days. In normal mode SmartTag2 can last for 500 days which is also much better than the original version which only lasted around 300 days.
Additionally with UWB equipped Galaxy devices, there is a search mode using AR augmented reality complete with object position arrows. Samsung Galaxy SmartThings2 will go on sale in selected markets starting October 11, but the price has not been announced.
