Second Generation Apple Vision Pro Still Unaffordable

The first generation Apple Vision Pro is sold at a price of around RM16,000 each which makes it one of the most expensive products offered by Apple to the market. There are predictions that Apple will launch a new Vision Pro after this which is more affordable to increase its sales. According to Mark Gurman's report via Bloomberg, the second generation Vision Pro will still be unaffordable at a price between $1,500-2,500 (~RM 7,200-RM 11,900) apiece.

This lower price is achieved through a reduced number of cameras and no EyeSight screen on the outside. This more affordable model will also use an iPhone chip and not from the M series like the current Vision Pro.

Apple and Meta's strategies in producing VR/AR headsets are different. The Meta Quest headset retails for just $500 (~RM2370) a pair and early post-launch reviews have received rave reviews. Their competitors like Samsung and Google delayed the launch of the headset after the launch of the Vision Pro a few months ago.

It is still unknown whether Vision Pro will be offered to all markets or not. Apple insists customers need to go to an Apple Store to take head measurements and do an eye test before buying. With Malaysia's first Apple Store only opening next February, maybe it can be offered in our country in the future.
