The Snapdragon X Elite launched yesterday is designed specifically for laptops but with high performance. But it raises many questions about Qualcomm's direction in the production of its next Snapdragon X chip.
In a question and answer session with the international media a few hours ago, Kedar Kondap who is the deputy president of Qualcomm's computer and gaming division said that this chip can be used according to OEM requirements. If OEM wants to use it on desktop it can be done. Its design allows Snapdrgon X Elite to be used on thin laptops without fan systems or on desktops with conventional cooling systems.
In fact, he also said that if an OEM wants to match the Snapdragon X Elite with a discrete GPU from another manufacturer such as AMD or NVIDIA, it can also be done. It's just that at this time they are only focusing on portable lightweight laptops with how many of their computer models can be seen at the Snapdragon Summit.
As we previously reported Lenovo, Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Microsoft, Samsung, Xiaomi and Honor are among the nine OEMs that have confirmed they will use the Snapdragon X Elite in their products next year.
