Status Threads Are Now Displayed On Facebook Without User Permission

Threads started with a bang, reaching 100 million registered accounts in less than a week. This was all driven by Twitter's missteps that introduced unpopular features as well as perceived poor quality content. But Threads' early momentum waned yesterday with only a handful of registered users still loyal to the Meta-owned platform.

Recently Threads users realized that their uploaded statuses were being displayed on their Facebook timelines without their prior permission. After receiving negative feedback, Threads announced that they are now taking feedback from users on whether their actions should continue or not. The majority of feedback received so far urges Meta to discontinue it because Threads content is not necessarily appropriate on Facebook.

So far Threads status is displayed not only on Facebook but also on Instagram. They started introducing search functions and trending topics as well as audio message support. One feature that has yet to be offered is for real-time news and political discussion because it requires difficult filtering.
