The Ministry Will Discuss With Telecommunication Companies To Address The Issue Of Additional Payments For 5G Access

Today, various users have to pay extra for their existing plans to access the 5G network. This makes many people do not like it, and do not switch to the 5G network even though their respective devices support it.

Touching on this, Fahmi Fadzil, the Minister of Communications and Digital now stated that the ministry will discuss with telecommunication companies to solve the problem of additional fees for 5G subscriptions.

The ministry is also examining a proposal where telecommunications companies implement an "opt-out" (i.e. not subscribing to 5G), compared to the implementation of "opt-in" where users must join the 5g subscription) implemented today.

He also hopes that users will be able to use 5G without additional charges – more or less the same as when we switched to using 4G around 10 years ago.
