The Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil today held a meeting with the TikTok side, and discussed a number of consequential matters - especially involving the spread of fake news on the TikTok platform.
In the meeting, the Minister emphasized that TikTok needs to operate according to Malaysian guidelines and laws, in addition to being more proactive in curbing the spread of fake news on the TikTok platform.
According to the Minister's sharing, it is stated that TikTok admits that there is a weakness in their response, and this is due to the absence of a representative in Malaysia. At the same time, TikTok also assured to increase cooperation with the Malaysian government.
