There is no denying that in the era of technology-savvy people, cashless payment systems have become a part of life. In fact, this type of transaction is easier and faster because there is no need to deal with paper money, as well as effectively minimizing security risks.
As a result, the cashless usage rate in Selangor and Penang has now exceeded 80% overall. This matter was stated in the Gift Presentation Ceremony of the "Cashless Boleh 3.0" Campaign at the Auditorium of the Ministry of Finance today. This achievement shows that the people of this country are increasingly moving to cashless transaction methods that are considered more efficient, practical, fast and facilitate various parties.
Apart from that, the penetration rate of digital payments in the public sector also showed an increase reaching 81.3%. At the same time making it a capital increase of more than 22% at the federal and state level from 58.8% since 2021. In addition, eight ministries and public sector agencies including the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) which were previously based on cash transactions have fully shifted towards digital payments .
In the same event, a prize and certificate of appreciation session was also held for government agencies and ministries that successfully drove the use of digital payments throughout the Cashless Boleh 3.0 campaign period. For the record this campaign has been held until May 2023 which is described as one of the efforts to foster awareness and encourage non-paying habits among the people.
