The short-term intensive program of the Selangor E-Commerce Xccelerator (ECX) finally officially drew the curtain with the winner announcement ceremony at Menara PNS, Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur today. Organized by SIDEC, the program is full of professional guidance and support with Affin Bank Berhad (Affin Bank) as the main sponsor.
Today's presentation is seen to focus on business sectors involving health & beauty, education & learning, home appliances, and food & beverage. Through it, various ideas and images were presented by the finalists about their respective services, which were then carefully judged by a line of professional judges.
A total of five winners were announced with each taking home a total prize of RM25,000 including a business trip package to Alibaba in China, cash worth RM3,000 and potential investment opportunities. Apart from that, all the winners also received trophies and certificates of appreciation each. Here is a presentation of ideas by the winners:
The Pastels Shop, health and beauty – A skin care company that produces products using an innovative and science-based approach to beauty. They provide skin care solutions by developing formulas in scientific research using chemical-free natural ingredients. Among the products produced include facial cleansers, toners, serums, moisturizers and so on.
Shapee, Health and beauty – A company that provides a line of products to meet the needs of mothers during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Among them are maternity pants, belly wraps and disposable bath products. Apart from that they also offer a digital learning platform to parents especially related to pregnancy and joint childcare.
Nori Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Health & Beauty – A company that provides funds, ideas and concepts to help build celebrity businesses. Starting from marketing, customer service and financial management. Through it they also actively promote a product through various platforms both online and offline, which also involve shopping centers such as AEON.
Big Bath Sdn Bhd, Home Appliances – A company that provides complete solutions for kitchen or bathroom items. Through it they not only offer quality products, but also act as consultants who give ideas and inspiration for the customer's dream home.
Sonobee Ultrasound Sdn Bhd, Health & Beauty – A company that provides various scanning services for the examination of expectant mothers. It includes preliminary scans up to 5D and 4D, which use advanced ultrasound technology for more accurate and detailed scan results. Among the scan services offered include Nuchal Translucency Scan, Detail Scan Pregnancy, Dating Scan, Anomaly Scan, Antenatal Scan, Growth Scan, Anatomy Scan, Twin Ultrasound, and Trimester Ultrasounds.
The Demo Day Final Stage was also completed by Selangor State Council Member, YB Ng Nze Han. In addition, it was also enlivened by the presence of the Executive Director, Group Corporate Banking, Affin Bank, Raymond Lee Wei Hwa, He and Sidec CEO Yong Kai Ping.
For the record, 200 applications were received for this program since it was launched last June, after which only 30 companies were shortlisted. All of them have been guided by experienced mentors, but only the top 10 companies have the opportunity to showcase their ideas at the Final Demo Day today.
