Cricket World Cup Final Is The World's Most Streamed Event

The world record for the world's highest streaming viewership was overtaken once again yesterday. The Cricket World Cup final between India and Australia streamed on Disney+ Hotstar recorded 59 million viewers yesterday. It eclipsed the record of 53 million viewers set a few days earlier for the World Cup cricket match between India and New Zealand.

All previous world records have involved live streaming of cricket matches in India. This shows how important cricket is in India because since losing the rights to broadcast Indian Premier Cricket League (IPL) matches, Disney+ Hotstar has lost millions of subscribers.

Like the previous record, this final was also offered for free in India. This helped the Disney+ Hostar to set an incredible viewing record.
