Dell Introduces UltraSharp IPS Black Screen Display With 120Hz Refresh Rate

Dell is a leading IT equipment brand known for their desktop computers, laptops and also various other computing equipment. One of their most famous pieces of hardware is the Dell UltraSharp screen display used by professionals in the creative industry because of its highly accurate color processing.

Recently, Dell has introduced two Dell UltraSharp U2724D and Dell UltraSharp U2724DE screen displays that use the new IPS Black panel. This IPS Black panel was developed by LG, and is said to be able to process blacks that are 35 percent darker than normal IPS panels and has a contrast ratio of 2000:1 and has a wider viewing angle.

This is not the first time Dell has used an IPS Black screen display. Previously they also introduced 27 and 32-inch UltraSharp screen displays with 4K resolution, but they were limited to a 60Hz refresh rate. With this model, the display resolution is limited to 1440p, but comes with a refresh rate as high as 120Hz.

It also comes with a brightness value of 350 nits and can process 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut with a color accuracy delta of E<2.

The difference between these two screen displays can be seen from the plugs offered. Dell UltraSharp U2724D and UltraSharp U2724E offer one DisplayPort 1.4 plug, one 1 DP output plug, one HDMI plug, one audio plug, one USB type-C plug with 15W PD and one USB hub with support for three USB plugs. The U2724E model comes with an additional Thunderbolt 3 plug that supports DP Alt-mode, an Ethernet plug and also a KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switch.

The Dell UltraSharp U2724D and UltraSharp U2724E come in at $479 and $649, but for now, Dell says that the display's on-sale date will be announced later.
