Samsung's challenge this year is the lackluster sales of its Galaxy series devices. As with other Android manufacturers, economic factors have caused device production to decrease significantly with it only expected to recover next year. According to a Korea Daily report, in order to increase sales of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, Samsung will market it as their first artificial intelligence (AI) smartphone.
In the report, Samsung is said to be aiming to increase sales on the S24 series by 10% compared to the Galaxy S23. Samsung is believed to be working with Microsoft and Google to offer ChatGPT and Bard available on devices. All the processing that has required an internet connection can be done directly from the device which makes the processing faster.
With the help of AI, the Galaxy S24 will be able to generate images, repair/edit photos, chat with users and various other generative AI features independently. This generative AI feature can already be seen on the Xiaomi 14 which edits user photos independently. This is the advantage of Android these days because Apple just wants to offer generative AI on their devices without any demos shown so far.
During the launch of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 during the day, we saw for ourselves the Llama-2 and Stable Diffusion models running directly in Qualcomm's prototype devices. Images can be generated by Stable Diffusion using the prom we entered in just 0.6 seconds. If Stable Diffusion is accessed using the current website, the same process can take tens of seconds.
