Garmin has announced the new generation of the Descent Mk3 dive watch series in Malaysia. Among the prominent features highlighted include an AMOLED display and the ability to send messages between divers. A total of two models are available, the Descent Mk3 in 43mm size, while the Descent Mk3i is 43mm and 51mm in size.
Starting with the display of the 43-inch model has a 1.2-inch screen with a resolution of 390 X 390 pixels. Meanwhile, the larger 51mm model is equipped with a 1.4-inch screen with a resolution of 454 X 454 pixels. This is also paired with a variety of built-in fitness and health sensors that include a variety of built-in dive modes (including nitrox and trimix). In addition to smart notification support, song downloads, Garmin Pay contactless payments, built-in flashlight and more.
Next, the included battery can last up to 10 days for the 43mm model, while the 51mm model can operate up to 25 days with a single charge. An advantage is also given to the MK3i model through SubWave sonar technology that allows underwater communication for diving. In addition, users can also get a Descent T2 Transceiver to monitor gas consumption, tank pressure and remaining air time.
For those interested, all these watches are sold at RM6,220 for the Descent Mk3 (43mm), RM7,250 for the Descent Mk3i (43mm) and RM8,280 for the Descent Mk3i with a size of 51mm. Also on sale is the Descent T2 transmitter at RM2,590, and you can get all of them through authorized Garmin distributors throughout Malaysia from the end of next December.
