Google Files Patent for Pixel Watch Design Without Physical Buttons

The Google Pixel Watch is Google's first smartwatch running Wear OS. It uses a bezel-less design with a curved round screen. The Pixel Watch 2 also uses the same design although these two watches still struggle to compete with other Wear OS watches.

Most recently, Google is seen to have patented a clock design believed to be for the Pixel Watch 3. The schematic drawing of this clock does not have any physical buttons as it uses full gesture control. On the bezel of the watch there is a pressure sensor like on Pixel 3 to call Google Assistant.

There are four main controls that the user can do which are touch, press, scroll or squeeze. Controls like this according to Google allow users to enjoy the screen better and not be hindered by fingers. This buttonless design is also said to make it easier for them to ensure that this smart watch is durable and has water and dust protection.

For now it's just a patent and it's not certain whether the Pixel Watch 3 expected to arrive in 2024 will use this design or it will be buried like most other Google ideas.
