Google Launches New Titan Security Key – Can Store 250 Passkeys

The Google Titan Security Key was launched in 2018 as a physical two-factor security (2FA) key for those who want to make their accounts hard to hack. It is offered in two formats namely Bluetooth and USB-A. Because the sale of this key was not widespread, Google later updated Android devices to also be a security key.

Recently, Google has launched two more new Titan Security Keys. This time there are also two types namely USB-A and USB-C. Google states that each of their security keys passes the FIDO2 standard and can store up to 250 passkeys. Google will also distribute 100,000 keys worldwide for free to high-risk users and industry partners.

Each of these keys retails for $30 (~RM141) for the USB-A version and $35 (~RM165) for the USB-C version. There is no announcement whether Google will sell it to the Malaysian market or limited to countries that accept Google Pixel only.
