GXBank is a digital bank led by Grab, while providing fully digital banking features. Users can open an account directly through the application, and then manage savings and various other things through it.
Today, GXBank announced that they will be expanding their beta access offering to 20,000 selected users in Malaysia. With it, users can register, add savings to the account, as well as link the GXBank account to the Grab account. GXBank also includes a feature called Pockets to encourage savings. For now, debit card applications are not yet available – but GXBank stated that they will support withdrawals at MEPS nationwide without any RM1 charge like other banks.
The features offered are still basic for now, and are expected to continue to be added from the coming months. GXBank promises a deposit return of 3% p.a., in addition to offering a RM20 cashback for the first RM100 deposit (deposit) into the account.
According to GXBank, they only support conventional savings methods, and there is no sharia-friendly support for now. This is said to be because the license given to them does not support sharia savings.
For those of you who are interested, you can download the GXBank application on iPhone or Android today, and register your interest to try it.
