This year is the year of generative artificial intelligence (AI) with its users in daily activities becoming something normal. 2024 will be the year AI is available on smart devices with Xiaomi and Samsung already showing generative AI capabilities available on their devices next year. Apple doesn't want to be left behind and according to a Bloomberg report, iOS 18 will also have generative AI features available.
Generative AI in iOS 18 will make Siri a truly intelligent virtual assistant. It is well known that Siri is the weakest virtual assistant when compared to Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Samsung Bixby. Starting with iOS 18, Apple will try to close this gap.
The ability to help write messages as if ChatGPT and Bard are also believed to be provided. The song list on Apple Music can also be generated by AI based on the user's wishes. The generative AI capabilities on iOS 18 are important for Apple because in a Bloomberg report the iPhone 16 is not expected to bring many major changes compared to the iPhone 15 series this year.
