JBL Malaysia is holding a Heart of Sound roadshow at Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur. Here, JBL offers a number of their products at a discounted price in addition to offering buy-with-purchase and also the opportunity to take home various audio products for free. This roadshow will end on November 19, 2023.
At the same time, JBL Malaysia today also launched four new products which are speakers under the JBL Authentics series and also a turntable player. These speakers are JBL Authentics 500, 300 and 200 and BT Spinner.
JBL Authentics 500 – RM3699
This speaker uses 270w power with 3.1 channel audio technology as well as virtual Dolby Atmos. Inside there are three 1″ tweeters, three 2.75-inch midrange woofers, one 6.5″ subwoofer below to deliver bass throughout.
This speaker uses a retro design inspired by the origins of JBL which started operating in 1946. In front of the JBL Authentics 500 is a Quadrex grille, above there are buttons and control knobs, behind there are LAN connections, USB-C and 3.5mm jack and wires power plug. JBL also uses 100% recycled fabric along with 85% recycled plastic.
This speaker also supports AirPlay, Alexa Multi-Room Music (MRM), Chromecast, Spotify Connect, supports two simultaneous virtual assistants namely Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa and can be controlled with the JBL One App. This speaker also has an automatic tuning feature that will calibrate the audio according to the room.
JBL Authentics 300 – RM2599
This speaker also has the same features and functions as the Authentics 500. From AirPlay support, Chromecast, virtual assistant, connection port and others. The main difference is the interior and this Authentics 300 model is a portable type that has a built-in battery that lasts up to 8 hours and a handle to easily carry it anywhere.
The audio drivers used are two 1″ tweeters, a 5.25-inch full range woofer and a 6.5-inch passive radiator. The design is also more or less the same but the size is smaller and it is lighter.
JBL Authentics 200 – RM1999
This is the cheapest speaker under the Authentics series and it also gets smaller and lighter. Surprisingly, JBL still offers the same features and functions on the 500 and 300 models. From more or less the same design, control buttons and knobs, ports, Google Assistant or even automatic tuning.
For this model, the audio drivers used are two 1″ tweeters, a 5-inch full range woofer and a 6-inch passive radiator pointing down. Despite its smallest size, it still depends entirely on the power plug.
JBL Spinner BT Turntable – RM3299
Finally, the product that JBL Malaysia wants to match with the Authentics series is a wireless turntable. Every music on the turntable that is played will support AptX HD on any JBL speaker. The tonearm used is made of aluminum, the footplate is wooden and the headshell is removable for easy replacement.
On the platter there is a knob and a motor with an optical sensor that can ensure the black platter rotates at a rate of 33.3 rpm for an album and 45 rpm for a song. JBL also includes a direct moving magnetic cartridge in their players.
