Magic Editor In Google Photos Will Prevent The Generation Of Fake ID Cards And Changing Faces

The Magic Editor feature on Google Photos is currently exclusive to Pixel devices. Through it photo editing is done with the help of artificial intelligence that produces a more realistic image post-process. But there is the issue that the images generated by Magic Editor can be misused by some individuals. According to a report by Android Authority, code in Google Photos indicates Magic Editor will prevent editing of certain images.

Clear code prevents Magic Editor from being used to generate fake ID cards or any alteration of personal information on the original ID card image. It also prevents if the face and body parts in the picture are changed.

Instructions to change large areas of the image are also no longer allowed. If the user still tries, a notification will be given saying it cannot be done. All of these obstacles are in line with Google's generative AI guidelines that are also applied to Google Duet.
