Malaysia's position is said to have several unique features as a launch site, including its position close to the equator. Previously, the government had developed feasibility study guidelines for the development of launch sites into space.
The location of the relevant launch site was not specified. However, Sabah once said it was also studying the suitability of a space launch center in the state.
