Since the end of last week, various dramas have hit one of the leading artificial intelligence companies, namely OpenAI. Many users may be familiar with OpenAI through product offerings such as ChatGPT and Dall-E.
OpenAI has already suddenly removed the CEO of the company, Sam Altman - thus leading to various drastic changes. The co-founder of Twitch is now the interim CEO of OpenAI, while Sam Altman is seen to be joining Microsoft. While hundreds of OpenAI employees are now threatening to resign if the company's board members do not change.
Most recently, surprising reports have also surfaced saying OpenAI board members have already approached their rival in the artificial intelligence arena, namely Anthropic to merge the companies.
Anthropic already offers services like CloudeAI which also competes in the same space as ChatGPT. In addition to getting users, they are also competing with OpenAI in an effort to get developer talent in the company.
It is said that OpenAI also offered Anthropic's current CEO to lead OpenAI as CEO – replacing Sam Altman before. Regardless, it is said that the offer has been rejected by Anthropic.
