PNY is a tech hardware maker brand that is quite famous for their affordable NVIDIA GeForce series of graphics cards. The company also makes a number of other products, and one of their new products is a PCIe 5.0 SSD.
This SSD is named PNY XLR8 CS3150 and it comes in 1TB and 2TB storage configurations and comes with a data read rate of 11.5GB/s for the 1TB model and 12GB for the 2TB model. It uses the Phison E26 SSD controller that is commonly used for many high-speed PCIe 5.0 SSDs.
This SSD is also seen with a rather unique cooling system, where it uses a cooling block that comes with two fans, and covers the entire circuit board of this SSD, not just the chips located at the top.
This cooling accessory comes in two color options, black and white. It also comes with an option for RGB lighting if desired. All of these coolers require a 4-pin power plug to power them.
For now, it is not yet known when PNY will launch this PNY XLR8 CS3150 SSD. Some reports expect that it will be officially shown at the CES 2024 event in Las Vegas.
