The government has previously announced that it will offer a digital wallet credit of RM100 to those aged 21 and above, and whose income is below RM100,000. Further to that, it is now shared that this program will be implemented from December 4, 2023.
This RM100 e-Wallet credit will be distributed through 4 selected digital wallet applications. However, for now it is not informed of the selected digital wallet. Redemption steps are expected to be the same as before, where those who qualify can redeem using one of the digital wallets they use – and credit will be credited to their respective accounts after verification.
The granting of this credit is expected to continue to increase the use of non-cash payment methods, and indirectly also increase the economy among local merchants.
