Qualcomm has launched a new processor chip in the form of Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 today. This chip that maintains the use of 4nm technology provides up to 15% CPU improvement, up to 50% GPU improvement and up to 20% better power consumption savings.
The configuration used consists of 1 + 3 + 4 which includes the main core at a speed of 2.63 GHz, along with three performance cores at 2.4 GHz and four efficiency cores at 1.8 GHz. It is also unclear about the type of Kyro used on this chip.
Next, the emphasis is also placed on the capabilities of artificial intelligence, hence the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU comes with a 60% faster performance jump compared to Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. However, it is not certain whether it will be available on the device or otherwise. The integrated Adreno GPU also supports the latest graphics APIs, including OpenGL ES 3.2 and Vulkan 1.3, enhancing the visual experience for users.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 also supports 4K display resolution at 60Hz refresh rate, or FHD+ at 168Hz. Through the Qualcomm Spectra ISP chip, camera sensors up to 200MP can be used, while also providing 4K video recording capabilities with HDR. Qualcomm also claims the chip also has an autofocus system and better night video recording performance.
Furthermore, the 5G network can be enjoyed which also supports up to WiFi 6E with a download speed of up to 5Gbps through the Snapdragon X63 5G Modem-RF. It doesn't end there as the chip also supports the latest Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity for a smoother wireless experience.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 will start to be used on devices that will be released as early as the end of this month with brands Vivo and Honor being among the first to use it.
