The Beatles Release New Song With AI Help

Legendary band The Beatles have released their first new song since 1995 produced with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). As we previously reported, the late John Lennon recorded a demo using a cassette before his death. Low audio quality means that the recorded audio cannot be used to produce songs.

But through the help of AI, Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr - two surviving members of the Beatles - managed to complete the song Now and Then which had been delayed since 1995 due to technological constraints.

The idea to complete Now and Then started again after the Get Back documentary was produced last year. Its director Peter Jackson used AI to better separate the audio. The same AI was used on tape recordings of Lennon's demos with the deceased's voice successfully separated from the background audio.

The process of producing The Beatles' last song has been immortalized in a short documentary that can be streamed via Disney+ Hotstar or YouTube.
