vivo Launches BlueOS – Competing With HarmonyOS And HyperOS

 


vivo yesterday launched OriginOS 4 for the Chinese market. It is an Android-based operating system with a focus on customization and the use of widgets. At the vivo Developer Conference 2023 event, vivo has also announced BlueOS.



BlueOS is an operating system developed entirely by vivo itself. It is said to solve the problems of Android which is still limited and to be a one-for-all operating system. BlueOS is built on Rust as the main framework.



This operating system will also focus on artificial intelligence, smarter Internet of Things device connectivity, as well as secure data transfer. vivo also includes BlueXlink support which is friendly with the majority of the internet of things device ecosystem.



vivo also stated that BlueOS reduces memory usage by up to 67%, efficiency levels increase to 48% and response time increases by up to 18%. BlueOS is currently limited to their new smart watch which is the vivo Watch 3, then internet of things devices and vivo still does not reveal if this operating system will replace OriginOS/Funtouch OS or not.
