WhatsApp is ready to improve their application so that users remain loyal to this messaging platform owned by Meta. Last week, a feature to send voice messages that disappear after one listen was introduced. Then Passkey support for passwordless login was also rolled out to Android users.
Recently, WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp is currently testing the Alternate profile feature. This feature is seen being tested on the WhatsApp app for Android. When a user sets profile privacy such as only contacts can see the profile picture, this alternative profile will be displayed to other WhatsApp users.
WhatsApp appears to allow users to use other profile pictures and usernames. This alternative profile feature is a good privacy feature because users now have more control over what information they want to share.
If this feature is eventually integrated into WhatsApp groups, it could be an anonymous profile in a group full of unknown individuals. Let's all wait for this feature to be distributed and see how much it will benefit the users.
