Do you know one of the reasons Sony devices receive less attention and gain popularity than competing brands? One of the reasons is the very expensive selling price and the second reason is the very slow and sometimes inconsistent distribution of updates.
Most recently, Sony is seen trying to break tradition and start distributing updates earlier. Xperia 1 V devices around Europe have reportedly started receiving the Android 14 update. The Xperia UI used remains with a stock Android-like theme as well as some customization features such as screen lock modifications. The Video Creator application introduced on the Xperia 5 V is also brought to this device.
This indirectly makes Sony the third manufacturer to offer Android 14 stable update to users after Xiaomi to Xiaomi 12T Pro/13/13 Pro users and Samsung with One UI 6.0 to selected devices.
Currently this update is distributed in stages and it is not certain when it will arrive to Xperia 1 V devices in Malaysia. Let's wait together.
