WhatsApp has recently introduced features to protect user privacy and data. Today they announced another new security feature specifically for WhatsApp Call. This feature is Protect IP address in calls.
According to WhatsApp with this feature, it will hide the user's IP address when using voice calls. By activating it, the user's IP will go through the WhatsApp server so that the recipient of the phone call cannot see the real address and track the caller's location.
Interestingly, even though the IP address has penetrated the WhatsApp servers the phone calls are still end-to-end encrypted. While this feature is a good thing, it will reduce the quality of voice calls. In my review, this feature was available for both Android as well as iOS devices.
