YouTube Tests New Play Button That Randomly Plays "Shorts"

Am I the only one who feels like the YouTube algorithm lately is a little silly? The videos that are suggested to me are videos that I have watched many times, videos from unknown channels, videos from topic categories that are not my favorite and many more. YouTube has recently been seen testing a new play button that tries to suggest content based on user usage patterns.

This button is black and floats at the bottom of the YouTube app for Android. According to Android Police, when this button is pressed it takes the user to random Shorts videos suggested according to the user's interests such as liked videos, subscribed channels, watch history and more.

The test appears to be limited to select users, another YouTube A/B test that isn't accessible to everyone. For now it is still uncertain when it will be launched to the public. For me who prefers YouTube Shorts to TikTok, this button really helps me to explore more content that I might have missed.
