This year YouTube has introduced many interesting features and functions such as features that make it easier for users to watch news from authentic sources, AI features that summarize comments, Playables web games and even Dream Track to generate music with the voice of real singers in Shorts.
Today when I was looking for a video to watch while having lunch, I received a notification on the YouTube web to try playing a game on YouTube. After pressing Try It, my YouTube home page started displaying a new category called Playables (Let's Play). It is a section for users to play web games such as Angry Birds Showdown, Stack Bounce, Om Nom Run, Scooter Extreme and 30 other games.
YouTube Playables is seen to be still in the testing stage which can only be tested by YouTube Premium subscribers until March 28, 2024. Playables is seen to be present in Android, iOS and also a web version with each game being free to play. Is this YouTube's answer to Netflix Games or an experiment to bring back Google Stadia's failed game streaming?
