For several years now, Acer seems to have become more and more serious about making their company, including their company partners, sustainable companies and using the earth's resources very efficiently.
Project Humanity was introduced in 2017 to ensure that all company employees understand the need to ensure that Acer operates sustainably, and zero pollution by the years 2035 and 2050. The company understands that it's a long-term process, and a lot needs to be done before they can make that promise and it can't be done alone.
Because of that, Project Earthion was also introduced in 2021 to ensure that Acer's supply chain partners understand the importance of ensuring that their operations are also sustainable. This includes companies that supply raw materials to develop their laptops, component suppliers, packaging suppliers, logistics partners and so on.
The Acer Earthion platform provides these companies with a way for them to prepare their companies to meet ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) requirements that ensure that they also follow global environmental standards.
Among the examples given here is where Acer's logistics partner has replaced the fuel of ships that deliver Acer products with biofuels that are more environmentally friendly, as well as the use of more compact and parallel packaging materials, to allow more computers riba sent out, and save the cost of shipping goods.
In fact, for Acer itself, their CEO, Jason Chen said that by 2022, the Acer Group has managed to convert 44 percent of their power supply at their headquarters in Taiwan to sustainable energy, in line with the company's goals. Two sustainable energy technologies that are utilized include solar and wind energy.
In fact, part of the reason why Acer is at COP28 is to introduce a series of new products, which are power supply products that will be introduced more widely in the future.
Details about this product are not yet known, but like the second-generation Acer Aspire Vero 16 laptop, more details about it are expected to be known at the CES 2024 event.
