Game Over – E3 2023 Event Canceled Forever

Since 1995, the Electronic Entertainment Expo event or better known as E3 takes place with it being the main platform for consoles and new video games announced by major companies. Today the ESA which is the organizer of E3 announced that this year's event is canceled indefinitely.

The first time it was canceled was in 2020 due to the pandemic before returning as a virtual event the following year. Then the 2022 and 2023 events were also canceled due to the cancellation of the involvement of several major publishing companies such as Xbox and Ubisoft.

With announcements being made online and demos being given directly to users, physical events like E3 are no longer compatible with current needs and require high costs for publishers. Several new events such as Nintendo Direct and PlayStation Showcase became competitors that hastened the death of E3 as the biggest gaming event in North America.
