Google Changes Nearby Share To Quick Share

Nearby Share is a file transfer system used on Android devices since 2020. But today some Pixel users reported that Nearby Share has been rebranded to Quick Share after receiving the Google Mobile Services 23.50.13 update.

After updating, a notification was displayed on the screen saying Nearby Share which is Android's answer to AirDrop on iOS, has been rebranded to Quick Share. Interesting here is that Quick Share is a data transfer system developed by Samsung as an answer to AirDrop. This change passed in the same week that Android Auto was updated with the use of application icons that used Samsung One UI.

Are Google and Samsung working together behind the scenes to combine several similar features into one on the Android operating system? We've already seen Wear OS updated with the help of Samsung with the Korean giant ceasing to use Tizen OS?
