Google Pixel 8 Pro Receives Gemini Nano Available AI Update

With the announcement of the latest Gemini model just now, Google also announced that the Pixel 8 Pro device will receive an update to offer the Gemini Nano model available on the device. This model may be the smallest when compared to the Gemini Ultra and Gemini Pro but is still useful enough to provide the AI capabilities available on the device.

The Pixel 8 Pro is the choice because there is a Tensor G3 chip whose job is specifically to run AI. With Gemini Pro available on the device, various AI capabilities are possible even without internet access. This was the first time we saw it when we attended the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 launch in Hawaii last October. On the device in reruai, the Llama-2 model by Meta has been used available in the device.

Speaking of Snapdragon, Google representatives in a press conference that took place early yesterday morning said Gemini Nano can be run on devices that have Tensor cores built on NPUs such as Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Currently Gemini Nano on Pixel 8 Pro is supported in the Summarize feature in the Recorder app and Smart Reply in Gboard. Google confirmed that more new features will be introduced on the Pixel 8 Pro in the future with it using Gemini Nano capabilities.
