Left, right, up and down we all can't run away with artificial intelligence (AI) news every day. Earlier this morning, the Intel Core Ultra chip series was announced for use in laptops with it being based on the Meteor Lake architecture.
Through the Core Ultra series, the chip naming has also changed to Core Ultra 5, Core Ultra 7, and Core Ultra 9. Each chip has a built-in NPU for AI purposes with Intel promising an increase in generative AI processing capability of up to 70%. Energy consumption is also improved by up to 25% compared to the previous generation chip. Intel Core Ultra chip equipped with up to 16 CPU cores up to 5.1GHz speed, equipped with Intel Arc GPU, WiFi 7 support.
The Intel Core Ultra chip is manufactured in Penang and is the last to be produced using Intel 4 technology and Foveros 3D packaging. Intel confirmed that this chip will be used in more than 230 laptops manufactured by Acer, ASUS, Dell, Dynabook, Gigabyte, Google Chromebook, HP, Lenovo, LG, Microsoft Surface, MSI and Samsung.
