Digital Minister, Gobind Singh Deo, has now confirmed which MAMPU (Malaysian Administrative Modernization and Management Planning Unit) will operate and be placed under the Digital Ministry.
Previously, MAMPU operated under the Prime Minister's Department, and now with the reorganization, MAMPU is placed under the Ministry of Digital.
MAMPU is a government agency that is ready to develop a number of products focusing on digitization, including MyGovernment, Government Open Data sharing, Malaysian Government Mobile Application Gallery, and so on.
By operating under the same ministry, integration and development efforts will be able to be implemented faster than the need to communicate between ministries which will take a long time. Previously, other agencies that were also placed under the Digital Ministry included MDEC, MYNIC and the Personal Data Protection Department.
