At the end of October 2023, Maxis announced a change in the price of their high-speed broadband offering, as well as announcing internet speed upgrades for existing users with speeds of 100Mbps and above.
The speed increase update for existing users is done in stages starting last November 2023. However, through the FAQ on the Maxis website, only users with a subscription internet speed of 100Mbps or above will receive a free upgrade.
On the other hand, for users of the existing Maxis Fiber 30Mbps plan, Maxis encourages them to add RM10 to their monthly bill, and enjoy 100Mbps internet speed – which indirectly leads to a speed increase of up to 3 times. Regardless, it's still subject to support on the respective premises – and if you're using a VDSL network, you'll have to wait until it's upgraded with fiber support.
However, although not explained by Maxis in the same FAQ, but if you want to keep the same subscription price at RM89 per month as the previous 30Mbps package, you can make a new contract for the 100Mbps package, giving you a RM10 rebate for 24 months - making the bill price you RM89 per month.
According to the new plan, the 100Mbps package is offered at the price of RM99 per month, the 300Mbps plan at the price of RM139 per month, the 500Mbps plan at the price of RM159 per month, the 1Gbps plan at the price of RM249 per month, and the 2Gbps plan at the price of RM319 per month.
