After introducing the Gemini Nano AI model on the Pixel 8 Pro device last week, Google will also introduce a new virtual assistant named Pixie. This is according to a report by The Information with Pixie currently being the code name used for development by Google and not the final name when it launches later.
Pixie will use artificial intelligence to enable it to perform tasks better than Assistant. It can search user information from various applications in smart devices to provide more accurate answers. Pixie is believed to be introduced on next year's Pixel 9 devices with it requiring a Tensor chip to function. As we can hear lately, the Android manufacturer will offer its own built-in AI. The Samsung Galaxy S24 series for example will come with a built-in Samsung Gauss model.
The era of devices with built-in AI will begin next year. Not only on Android but also on iPhone and PC. There have been a number of small AI models announced over the past four weeks that are made specifically for mobile devices. Say goodbye to Siri, Assistant and Alexa as virtual assistants with AI will replace them all in the near future.
